Virginia Sail250® Escort
Friday, June 19th
THE YEAR 2026 MARKS THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR NATION'S FOUNDING IN 1776 - THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'S SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL.
For this milestone occasion, a fleet of the world's most magnificent international tall ships and military ships, in an
pic peacetime gathering, will sail into the port of Virginia as part of Sail250® America.
There have been five iconic OpSail events held in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads/Chesapeake Bay region since 1976. The fleet will once again bring extraordinary experiences and opportunities to the Chesapeake area. More than 60 ships are expected to participate.
Don't miss this once in a generation international event - with incredible opportunities to view the fleet of tall ships from the comfort of your own vessel on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, Hampton Roads, and the Elizabeth River.
The Corinthians will be escorting the Fleet sailing along side the tall ships inside the police escort.
The parade starts on the Friday morning June 19, 2026 near Thimble Shoals. Corinthians are expected to find their own berths or anchorage nearby and meet that morning at a designated location on the water for the Parade.
Several boats have slips reserved at Bluewater Safe Harbor in Hampton and some are on the Waitlist at Tidewater. Slips are filling quickly so make your arrangements soon.
In addition, each individual owner of a vessel representing The Corinthians Association must complete a Sail250® Virginia “Escort Fleet” Individual Boater Registration Form. This form is attached for your convenience and MUST be submitted to the Port Captain at the time of your Event registration. Cost is $35 per boat.
